Peggy Ackermann

Peggy Ackermann, a Senior Editor at NewsGuard, worked most recently at the New York Daily News, where she oversaw coverage of education, transportation, and courts. She previously served as night metro editor at the paper. Earlier, she worked at The Star-Ledger, where she was an editor and covered New Jersey’s Supreme Court. As an editor at several New Jersey newspapers, she has overseen reporters covering breaking news, crime, and politics, and as a reporter, covered municipal government and produced features. Ackermann ghost-wrote “Chance of a Lifetime,” a book about the transformation of Atlantic City, New Jersey. She has bachelor’s degrees in journalism and Spanish literature from the University of Missouri. She works occasional copy editing shifts at the New York Post.
