Stéphanie Fillion

Contributing Analyst

Stéphanie Fillion was a Contributing Analyst at NewsGuard and a freelance French-Canadian journalist specializing in politics and foreign affairs. She has worked as a TV reporter for CBC/Radio-Canada in Vancouver and was a San Paolo fellow at La Stampa in Turin Italy.

Fillion’s work has appeared in outlets including Quartz, Vice News, Ipolitics, the Daily Dot, and Foreign Policy, and she is a regular contributor to PassBlue, an independent journalism site covering the United Nations.

She has also worked as a media outreach coordinator at the Canadian Senate, a nonpartisan position, and also worked as a temporary press officer for the current Speaker of the Senate.

In 2015, Fillion won the Eu-Canada Young Journalist Award, which included a fellowship on the European Union in Brussels. She holds an M.A. in Journalism, Politics and Global Affairs from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and a B.A. in Comparative Politics, History and Italian Studies from McGill University.
