Madeline Roache is the Managing Editor, UK, at NewsGuard. From 2019 – 2021, Roache worked as a freelance journalist and fact-checker for Time Magazine in London, focusing on politics in Russia and Eastern Europe. She previously reported from Ukraine, Russia, Lithuania, and Poland on politics, human-rights issues, health, and misinformation for various news sites, including Foreign Policy, The Guardian and Al Jazeera. She also worked as a content curator for Pocket, an app owned by Mozilla. Roache holds a National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ) qualification from the Press Association (the national news agency of the UK and Ireland) and a Masters degree in Russian and post-Soviet politics from University College London.
