A graduate from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, Richter previously worked for a German-American law firm. She has a Bachelor of Liberal Arts from Sarah Lawrence College, where she studied international relations, literature and writing.
During her undergraduate studies, Richter interned with the Council on Foreign Relations, PEN America, and the Argentine Congress in Buenos Aires.
