Lea Marchl is a News Verification Staff Reporter, working on NewsGuard’s False Claims Fingerprints team. She previously worked as an analyst at Alethea, a startup focused on assessing and mitigating online risk, as well as at Middlebury University’s Center on Terrorism, Extremism, and Counterterrorism. In 2022, she completed her bachelor’s degree in Regional Comparative Studies at Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. At Georgetown, Marchl was an opinion columnist for the student newspaper, La Hoya.
