How NewsGuard Works

As you browse the internet, NewsGuard displays rating icons next to links in your search results and social media feeds. Hover your mouse over each icon for a short description of the site and click “See the Full Nutrition Label” for a detailed description of the site and why it received its rating.

Install NewsGuard on your computers and mobile devices.

To install NewsGuard on a desktop or laptop computer, you’ll need to install NewsGuard in each Microsoft Edge browser you use. You can do so from this link.

NewsGuard is built in to Microsoft Edge for mobile devices on iOS and Android. Search for Microsoft Edge in the appropriate app store from your phone—or use the buttons below.

Once you have installed the Microsoft Edge app on your phone, enable “News Ratings” in the app settings to get NewsGuard ratings on pages you visit.
